Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Officer is responsible for the efficient and accurate
management of disciplinary matters as health Insurance in compliance with legislation and
company policies and procedures

We’re seeking a Human Resources Officer with experience in peoples Management, legal and Insurance Management. The job requires some additional hours beyond the regular work day, especially to meet deadlines. We are looking for a creative and dedicated individual who will fit within our team environment. This individual would perform the following but not limited to:
Effective performance of the Industrial Relations function
● Responsible for all disciplinary processes conducted in the branch, ensuring compliance with the company’s code of conduct and procedures
● To effectively preside over all disciplinary hearings within the area and ensure that all matters are dealt with consistently and that the guidelines as set out in the Local Labour Law , Sector Collective Agreement, the internal Rules and regulations as well as the company disciplinary procedure is applied
● Competent representation of the company in Social disputes in the Douala branch
● Ensuring that line management is kept informed of changes to the interpretation and application of disciplinary procedures necessitated by the labour court decisions
● Assisting in the provision of Industrial Relations training to line management
● Line management compliance with disciplinary procedures and practices
● Competent assistance to the HR Manager in the representation of the branch in administrative dealings with trade unions
● The provision of appropriate and competent advice and assistance to line management and staff.
● Maintain accurate disciplinary documents and records of proceedings
● Liaise with HR Manager over matters requiring input and guidance
● Ensure line management are aware of the company policies and procedures
● Compile reports on statistics and trends for Management
● Keep an active case register (discipline and Labour Court)


Effective Management of Health Insurance policy
● Regular meetings with branch HR manager to ascertain on
onboarding into the insurance platform
● Adherence to the contractual agreement with the insurance company or broker
● Effective and efficient management of the consumption rate and
update the HR Manager with immediate effect of any violations of
risk.
● Work within agreed time frame to ensure on and offboarding into
the Health Insurance platform
● The provision of appropriate and competent advice and assistance
to line management and staff on reimbursement and other
processes and procedures.
● Compile reports on statistics and trends for Management

Health and Safety Support
● Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation
and monitoring of the departmental safety plans for each year.
● Participate in safety forums created by company for example safety
meetings and safety talks
● Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
● Discuss all safety incidents
● Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety
meeting/committee/representative/management
● Attend safety education and refresher programmes
● Comply with safety policies and procedures at workplace
● Distribute safety information as and when required


Qualification
● As a minimum, the candidate should be a holder of a minimum of a first degree in Human Resources, Business administration or Business Law Experience
● Minimum of 3 years’ experience as HR or legal practitioner with specific reference to industrial
relations
● Experience within a blue collar, labour management environment advantageous
● Sound legal experience
● IR background necessary
