This is a Deputy Project Director role with Jhpiego in Cameroon, supporting large public-health and development programs.

The position is second-in-command to the Project Director and may temporarily lead the country office when the director is absent. It combines technical public-health leadership, project management, donor compliance, stakeholder engagement, and team supervision.

Main responsibilities:

Help design and deliver complex health programs aligned with Cameroon’s Ministry of Public Health, U.S. government, and donor priorities.
Provide technical assistance to government counterparts, partners, and project teams.
Lead annual workplans, budgets, performance monitoring, evaluations, reporting, and data-quality work.
Strengthen national health-data and health-management information systems.
Supervise, mentor, and build the capacity of project staff and partners.
Represent Jhpiego with government officials, the U.S. Department of State, UN agencies, donors, civil-society groups, and other stakeholders.
Manage project finances, funding pipelines, compliance, records, and proposal development for future programs.

Required profile: a master’s degree in public health, social sciences, program management, monitoring and evaluation, communications, business administration, or similar; a clinical qualification is preferred. Candidates need at least six years of progressively senior experience running complex development or public-health projects in developing-country settings, including at least one year on a U.S. government-funded program.

Strong candidates will have experience with health systems, HMIS/data systems, monitoring and evaluation, budgets, partner oversight, U.S. donor rules, and communicating effectively in Cameroon’s bilingual environment.
